Well what can i say apart if your a live music collector and you have not got this then you are missing out. I started my own site from scratch and the hassles of adding every show manually with all the coding was a little to much. A while after it was released i noticed a few members with there sites up and running all with original custom themes to match. After toiling with the idea for a while i took the step and the only thing i should of done was change to the MHS servive when it was 1st released. It saves me so much time adding , editing , deleting shows and with the theme i purchased designed around my original site i have now got the best of both worlds. My own site along with the MHS is just what i was looking for and glad i took the move. For the minimal price this will cost to have your own custom theme, MHS installed and if you prefer like myself also webhosting then this is the place to start. The webmaster is a pleasure to deal with and very helpfull with anything MHS and related products.
Glad i took the step and a very happy customer i remain with all the services.
Just want to say Thanks so much for the software. Being a newer collector of Live Recordings and seeing most everyone else who shares this hobby having a website of some sort, I was looking for something that had the ability to store my information in a clean and easily accessible place. Not being familiar or comfortable with HTML code and never having any real websites, the stuff I was able to humorously create on other "FREE" sites was horrible. The concept of having continuously re-write code upon every new entry was a nightmare waiting to happen for someone who was none too familiar with all this web code jargon.
Started using other sites that Metallica Video Archive, sjmike & LeperMessiah26 had as references for whatever new recordings I was getting in and asking some questions. Seeing some of the skins that were developed and was quite intrigued at the possibilities of what I could do with my own site. Once seeing how easy the Control Panel was and seeing the ease of the interface, I was sold.
I had never seen anything like it. It literally is a matter of input info, decide who many screens you would like to choose, if at all, enter other relative information pertaining to that particular Live Recording and Submit.
Everything is easy to use, the Custom skins are amazing and make each individual site entirely different than the next. For the MOST reasonable and minimal cost of startup (I was actually surprised at how affordable it is) I got the Lifetime License and for a little over 20 bucks a year for Domain & Hosting, I highly recommend MyHobbySite to anyone who has a hobby to use this simple but extremely powerful software to store and file all your collections.
Thank you very much again for this amazing website and am very pleased to be on board with MHS.
I've been trading since around 2001, and for the majority of the time I attempted to do my own HTML coding and graphics. Even the last trading website I had back in 2004 was painstaking to work on, it was all manual HTML editing to change the data on the pages...then it all changed.
When MyHobbySite first came out, I wasn't really into trading at the time, but once I got to talking to some of the first people that had it I started to understand how amazing it was. At that time, I was trying to get someone to develop a new website for me but I had high demands - over 2 years of looking and finally Spawn agreed to do my website (powered with MyHobbySite). Let me tell you, it has NEVER been easier to input new shows, it has never been easier to edit any info, it has never been easier to manage all of my pages.
The customization of MyHobbySite is one of my favorite aspects of it. I've seen about 5 or 6 different websites that all use the MyHobbySite backend and they don't look alike. The option of having multiple appearances (called skins) is a great one, that allows someone to update their look without having to edit all their information. And in my opinion the skin is the ONLY thing that will ever need to be updated, because I have never been happier than when I started using MyHobbySite.
I use MHS to organize and display my every growing collection of live audio and video recordings. As an added bonus, it has become a valuable resource and reference for other collectors who share a common interest. I have tried using Word documents, spreadsheets, databases, free website templates and even writing my coding my own HTML pages to organize my collection and maintain the all the valuable information about each show, but nothing has come close to what MHS offers in terms of scalability, customization and ease of use. Another great thing about MHS is that no two sites are ever alike thanks to each site having its own unique skins. MHS can handle whatever you throw at it, whether it be e
mbedded audio samples or video clips or high res images, all your pages will load smoothly and quickly. MHS offers the best pricing for an all in one website which is fully customizable to all of your specific needs and allows your site to grow without the need of costly upgrades.
I use MHS for my Metallica audio and video recordings.
In the beginning i used a Excel list to keep track of my recordings.
After a wile i registered a free account at FreeWebs witch was my first webpage.
Ive used FreeWebs for a wile and it was nice to start with.
I have seen some cool Metallica trading pages, and i always wanted to have one myself.
Being a member at MetCoverArt ive seen some cool Artwork and Kick Ass Graphics from Spawn.
I said to myself if i let someone make me a webpage i wanted Graphics from Spawn on my webpage.
I found a designer but it ended up with that he did'nt had the time to make my webpage.
Because i had contacted Spawn for making graphics, i had to cancel this.
Spawn asked me what i would like for my webpage, i thold him that i would like to have a PHP webpage.
He said to me that if i would give him the time, he was willing to make a webpage for me.
I was exything about it, what more could i wish.
Im using MHS from the beginning and im very happy with it.
I would definatly go for MHS, my opinion is that it's easy and plesant to work with and allot of features.
The cost of the software is'nt that expencive.
I havent had disadvantages with certain features.
Im not using the Live Recording module for multiple Bands.
The custom skins on the website is an awesome feature.
Im very very happy with my own website, Thanks again far all your hard work.
Coming from two totally different websites structures (www.lepermessiahtrading.co.uk and www.katsbootlegs.com), one being a pure html based website and the other being based on an MS Access database, MHS was the perfect solution when we decided to merge.
This is definitely the most convenient way of maintaining whatever collection you have, may it be bootlegs, stamps, cheeky pictures of your lovely self. It does not get much easier to use than this. Everything is self explanatory and no collector has to bother with the complicated and often frustrating tasks that come with html coding. Navigation is all neat and set up literally with a click.
One of the best features is the possibility to have as many or as little different layouts (skins) as you want, so no website looks even remotely like the other. It doesn't matter if you only want to change your website background or use a completely different theme, with some creativity you can have a professional looking website within no time.
Adding items (in our case bootlegs) couldn't be faster, even the database used for katsbootlegs before took more time to update. And the new features of uploading audio and video clips is fantastic in itself.
All this comes to a very low price, that is more than worth it with all the time and boredom it saves you. If you are looking for the perfect bargain to display your collection, you cannot go wrong with this. MHS is the best thing to happen to collectors for years!
I really have to give this guy credit for the amazing job he did on this module which to me is the best I've seen so far. Caleb spent quite a bit of time with me and helped set up the whole thing. I loved the Metallica graphics this guy created and was hoping he could use his talents to work on a Van Halen graphic. Caleb took the challenge and created an awesome VH skin for my site. Thank you Caleb for the amazing site and support you gave me to get started. Nevrer had better control on my collection till I fell into Myhobbysite :-)
